Smith Brothers (York) Keuco Shop In Shop 2012.

Out With The Old & In With The New.

For the last 8 years Smith Brothers of York have successfully marketed their Keuco Shop in Shop and needless to say the spinning anthracite display boards and maple framework has been a very successful investment for both parties.

Fast forward to December 2012 and you will notice the use of high gloss white display module’s with soft carpeted area which creates a very comfortable and relaxing environment for customers to browse Keuco products in style. This also offers the retailer the chance to display other product ranges such as recessed mirror cabinets, shower systems, brassware and furniture in a very unique way.

Here you can see one of the columns that measures 600mm x 600mm and utilizes 4 of our fantastic shower ranges. From the unique design features of Edition 11 to the environmentally friendly range of Plan Blue. You can also see Richard Thackray (showroom manager) designing a bathroom full of Keuco products at the new high gloss white consultation area.

Whilst browsing the showroom, Smith Brothers invite their customers to help themselves to a fresh filtered cup of coffee & a savory snack from the coffee bar. Ideal when warming up from the cold winter days and when deciding on what accessories to install into their new bathroom.

So after only 4 days installation from the point of laying the carpet, Smith Brothers have now successfully updated their Keuco Shop in Shop and with a revised layout and overall display area of 95m2 we are proud have been given this display space and thank Smith Brothers for their continued support and commitment.

The next generation of Keuco Shop-in-Shop's have certainly arrived.

Romerils Trade Show

BG Romerils of Jersey held their 19th Annual Trade Show at the Hotel du France. Kicking off at 17.30 the show came to a close at 22:00.

35 exhibitors, including Keuco, were joined by 400 invited customers from the bathroom and associated industries.

Entertainment was provided by Fuse, a high tech violin duo. Food and drink was plentiful as always.

Simon and Paul from Keuco were in attendance showing off some of our latest brassware together with innovations for the Universal / Accessible markets.

Now the morning after the night before the duo make their way back to East Midlands courtesy of BMI Baby.

Water Conservation & Blue Responsibility

Much is being made about water saving devises to underpina more sustainable use of the natural resource.

However, even Which? Magazine, the consumer champions,are now questioning if products designed to reduce water usage are in actualfact doing just that.

This proves yet again that saving water and reducing thedaily amount used per day per person to an average of 80litres (code 5/6 forsustainable homes) is questionable. To follow guidelines to aspire to the code 5and 6 a bathroom tap is required to dispense somewhere around 1.5-2.5 litresper minute. Given the fluctuation of water pressure combined with such low flowrate most consumers will be left disappointed. As Which? Magazine rightypointed out there have to be better ways of saving this most precious ofrecourses called water.

Whilst manufacturers like KEUCO keep evolving theirproduct offerings to reduce flow rates it will come down to a mixture ofexceptable product performance coupled with a responsible use of water by theindividual in the household.

Utopia Interiors of Newark have just completed their latest showroom display featuring a Universal Design (or inclusive design if you prefer) for a small bathroom that can be used by anyone.
Featuring a hook on seat which can be removed and stored away if not immediately needed; a sturdy 700mm grab bar which can also act as a towel rail and will accept the seat for a different seating position; shower riser set and thermostat. All these items are from the Keuco PLAN range of accessories and brassware.

To complete the basin area a washtop and basin from Keuco PLAN b_free has been used which once again is designed to be used by anyone and everyone. The integral grab bars are often also used as towel rails. With the mirror coming down to meet the basin even the smallest person in the house (or someone sitting at the basin) has a good chance of seeing themselves! The Night before ISH

Having returned from the Frankfurt Messe after previewing our stand, the Keuco team are once again at the start of another ISH week.

The training weekend is complete and an early night is in order - apart from myself who is taking a little time to write this!

The Keuco stand is simply stunning on 2 floors with a 20m high green wall that has taken 3 months to grow and now has rain gently falling down amongst the leaves.

The new products are exciting, innovative, and something new for Keuco. I cannot show you too much as the launch is tomorrow!

We look forward to seeing many visitors from the UK. Once again our bar and restaurant is awaiting your visit.

ISH Here we come

Where the last 2 years have gone since ISH 2009 I do not know. Not the best 2 years for anyone in our industry I would guess.

But here we are again full of anticipation and excitement for the next 9 days - new products, old friends, new friends and the buzz of a huge exhibition that is ISH.

So as 3 of the Keuco UK team make their way to Dusseldorf and onwards to Hemer for training and finally Frankfurt for the show, it is already too much for some.

Stick with it Bass only another 9 days to go until I buy you a Big Mac at Frankfurt airport.

New Look Shop-in-Shop Sparkles Brightly

For more than 10 years now, Keuco’s integrated Shop-in-Shop marketing concept has stood the test of time and in the process created sales for retailers up and down the country.

Fighting off the weather disruption in December we were able to complete two complete refits of existing shop-in-shops at Laing’s in Inverurie and Littlejohn Bathrooms in Petersfield.

The new scheme, using high-gloss white display systems, perfectly represents Keuco’s product ranges of accessories, brassware and mirror cabinets. Discreet branding and lighting schemes combined with a choice of carpet and tiled flooring ensures the whole area is styled to a high standard representing quality of display and product throughout.

We thank both companies for their ongoing commitment and wish them success with their new Keuco shop.

New research says UK residents are unaware of how much water they use, despite saying they want to save it.

The report, commissioned by Ideal Standard, says that over half of people use double the amount of water they think they use. Over 80% of believe they consumer less than 90 litres of water per day when, in fact, the average is 150 litres.

While 70% of consumers are interested in reducing the amount of water they use in the home, over half of people are not prepared to put pay to do anything about it. The majority, 60%, do not currently have any water saving products, such as dual flush toilets, installed in their bathroom.

When questioned, however, two thirds said they would consider installing water saving products if they knew it would save them money on their water bills.

"Research shows that London is drier than Istanbul, and the south east of England has less water available pre person than the Sudan and Syria," said Tony Rheinberg, Ideal Standard's marketing manager. "Our national water usage survey highlights the lack of awareness around sustainable water usage in the UK and the fact that there are plenty of option for the bathroom out there which will help people to save water and money at the same time."

The survey was conducted by One Poll with 2,000 participants in June 2010.

New "Blue" Products

When is green blue? This is when the rest of Europe cannot agree on what colour should be applied to all things eco. Volkswagen for instance have Bluemotion designating their most fuel efficient and environmentally friendly models.

The UK however have chosen green as their mark. I do not have a problem with that but it causes a little misunderstanding. When I told a few customers last week that I was flying to Germany to look at our new brassware range, PLAN BLUE, "Should stick with chrome or even gold" some of them said. Ha ha very funny.

Anyway all will be revealed tomorrow and later in this blog as to the impact Keuco will have on this current hot topic.

In the meantime here is Dan one of Keuco UK's Regional Managers sporting his new Dexy look or should that be Gilbert O'Sullivan? (google if you are too young to remember either).

After a short trip, a couple of glasses of wine at the hotel and a good nights sleep we are ready to receive all the information and numerous facts that are going to get thrown our way.

First impressions, the showroom is looking good.

......and apparently there is more than the brassware launch referred to above......

Great 55 minute flight back with the orange airline only to be ambushed at Luton passport control with a 65 minute queue!

At a regional gardening show in Germany - Landesgartenschau Hemer 2010 - Keuco were invited to design one of the public conveniences.
